KFRI Golden Jubilee Celebrations

We are delighted to share that the workshop on Basics of Light Microscopic Techniques, held on 17th December 2024 at the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi, was a resounding success.

The Centre for Analytical Instrumentation-Kerala (CAI-K), KSCSTE-KFRI, organised the event in collaboration with the Department of Forest Botany, Department of Forest Genetics, and M/s. InBiotek Microsystems, Kochi, as part of KFRI’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

The day began with a warm welcome by Dr V B Sreekumar, Principal Scientist, KSCSTE-KFRI, followed by an inspiring inaugural address by Dr Kannan, CS Warrier, Director, KSCSTE-KFRI. Dr V Anitha, the Research Coordinator, felicitated the gathering, and the inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr R Jayaraj.

Mr. C V Ajith Kumar, Founder & CEO, M/s. InBiotek Microsystems, Kochi provided an insightful explanation of the purpose and structure of the event, emphasizing the importance of light microscopy in advancing research. Mr. C V Ajith Kumar has taken key sessions 'Basics of Microscopy and Different Contrasting Techniques' and 'How to Choose the Right Camera for Micro Photography'.

Dr. Vinoth Thomas, Principal Scientist (Rtd.), Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam, has taken the session 'Sample Preparation for Microscopy Analysis' and Mr K Jaya Kumar and Mr Anandhu AS from M/s. InBiotek Microsystems, Kochi has taken 'Different Modules of Microscopy Software and Practical Sessions'.

The event concluded with a valedictory function and certificate distribution, recognizing the enthusiastic participation of attendees.

The event was a remarkable step toward empowering researchers and students in microscopy techniques, fostering knowledge exchange and skill development.
