KFRI Golden Jubilee Celebrations

As part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) proudly hosted an inspiring session on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2025. This year’s global theme, “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development,” set the tone for a thoughtful exploration of the critical connection between biodiversity and human well-being.

The event featured an engaging talk by Dr. Santhoshkumar A.V, Professor and Head of Forest Biology & Tree Improvement at the College of Forestry, Vellanikkara. Dr. Santhoshkumar shared profound insights into the intricate links between biodiversity and human health, emphasizing the essential role that ecological balance plays in sustaining life and supporting development goals.

“Preserving biodiversity is not just about protecting wildlife or forests,” Dr. Santhoshkumar noted. “It is about safeguarding the foundation of our health, food security, and resilience in the face of global challenges.”

KFRI extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Santhoshkumar for his leadership and valuable contributions to the field of conservation. As we celebrate 50 years of pioneering research and community engagement, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing and protecting our nature.

Let us move forward together — in harmony with nature, for a sustainable future.
